Questions
Do I have to upload my syllabus?+
No. That is the entire difference between Syllmate and every other tool here. They ask you to upload your syllabus and then generate notes from it. We read the material you already have access to, so there is nothing to upload and nothing to maintain.
What exactly do you get access to?+
Read-only access to the Google Classroom courses you are enrolled in, their coursework, class materials, announcements and topics, plus file metadata for Drive files shared with you. That is it. We never read rosters, other students' submissions, grades, or your email.
Is my material mine?+
Yes. Your library is private to you. We do not share material between students, and we have no feature that would let us. Disconnect and everything we stored is deleted and the token revoked.
What if my college blocks third-party apps?+
Some college Workspace administrators do block third-party apps domain-wide. If that happens, we tell you exactly what happened and what to ask your admin. You can still build a library using the forward-to-email and share-sheet routes, which need no Google permissions at all.
Is it really free?+
Yes, and we mean it. The core — ingest, search, deadlines, notifications, forwarding and sharing — stays free. There is no upload quota, no AI credit meter, and no plan to start charging for the basics.
Does it work on my phone?+
Syllmate is an installable web app (PWA). Add it to your home screen and it launches full-screen and works offline for the shell. No app store, no install.
